Letter to the United nations Secretary General, 13 June
2006
The President of the Republic, the President of the National
Parliament and the prime minister signed a letter to the United
Nations Secretary General asking for a United Nations Police Force
in Timor-Leste, for one year duration and with around 870 elements,
also request one month extension of the UNOTIL mandate (after
20 of June), and the availability to provide inputs into the discussion
concerning the nature and need of a robust UN presence, with police,
military and civilian components.
